The Dons twice came from two goals behind to record a sensational F A Women's Cup 1st Round victory over Eastern League Barking.

Playing without a recognised goalkeeper and with only 10 players in the opening half hour, it was no surprise when Vigors opened the scoring for Barking in the 11th minute with a simple lob. A Barnes volley hit the Dons bar before a magnificent shot into the top corner by Vigors made it 2-0 in the 32nd minute. Five minutes later, the Dons pulled a goal back when Claire Speed's cross was knocked back by Triona Doyle for Lekesha James to bury a low shot into the bottom corner.

After the interval Barking looked comfortable but the Dons equalised in the 66th minute when Speed and Beth Sims combined to allow Doyle to sweep the ball home. Doyle then had a shot kicked round the post before Barking scored twice in quick succession, Drane sliding a long ball over the top past Fernandes in the 72nd minute before Vigors lobbed the keeper to make it 4-2 in the 73rd minute. The Dons' reply was immediate, Fay Ludlow finding Doyle who cut past a defender before smashing a shot into the roof of the net. Five minutes later a long ball through the middle allowed Sims to coolly sidefoot the ball past Unwin to make it 4-4, and two minutes later a Sims shot across the face of goal eluded Unwin to nestle in the bottom corner. In the closing minutes, despite the Dons having a player sent off for 2 bookable offences, the Dons held out fairly comfortably with Barking unable seriously to test Fernandes.
